About a Mercury dime?

A question from a curious person about their Mercury Dimes:

I have a mercury dime from 1942 but i was searching google and found different forms like 1942/1-D* 1942/d what exactly is that? I found one in ebay that was selling for 800 dollars and looked exactly like mine but i dont know. Also i have another one from 1944 also a mercury dime. Do u know the value of these or help me out with something.

How do I clean a mercury dime?

A question from a curious person about their Mercury Dimes:

I found a mercury dime from 1942 and I heard that mercury dimes from 1942 might be rare, because some are actually misprinted and from 1941. I want to sell the dime on eBay, and it would be worth more if it were clean. Does anybody know some good methods to clean mercury dimes?
